SIG: Mobile & Remote Payments

Next Wednesday’s Vendorcom Mobile & Remote Payments SIG will connect delegates with some of the leading thinkers and practitioners in the mobile payments space as we share the latest independent, authoritative information on this complex and developing range of topics and help shape the future by bringing together the assembled wisdom and broad perspective from across the payments community.

As always, we don’t expect our speakers to be the sole source of all the good ideas and knowledge on the day. Following each of the presentations, our round-table/boardroom style discussions and lively debates will, as always, allow you to share your views and help other delegates develop a more robust, collective understanding of the subject.

Mobile Payments: Where are we and where are we going?

From clunky contactless card analogue to slick payment initiation platform; the mobile device is strengthening its position at the centre of payment innovation. We’ll take a look at the journey so far, take stock of where we are, and look at where this area might be heading.

Mobile Payments: Are banks finally getting it together?

Pingit is offering Pay by Bank App! What does this mean a convergence in approach between the banks. What’s in it for the merchant/service user and for the consumer/end user? What have been the challenges in getting to this stage? Does this spell the end for card payments?

Industry Consultation: Mobile Payment Acceptance Security Guidelines

The PCI SSC recently announced plans to issue updates to its mobile guidance documents and launched a consultation which closes on Friday, 8th May 2017. This provides everyone involved in the mobile payments space with an opportunity to review the currently published documents:

Mobile Payment Acceptance Guidelines for Developers v1.1

Mobile Payment Acceptance Guidelines for Merchants as End-Users v1.1

Vendorcom has been involved in many PCI SSC consultations in the past and endorses the PSC SSC view that ‘industry feedback plays an important part in the development PCI resources’. Please review the documents above and come prepared to give your feedback as we prepare our response ahead of next Friday’s deadline.
